Biography
A late-blooming world-class athlete, this one-time PTA mom began her formal athletic pursuits at age 40 by qualifying as a contestant on NBC’s “American Gladiators” television show.
After that accomplishment, no athletic challenge was beyond her reach.
Linda went on to immerse herself in cycling. She rode the first L.A. Marathon Bike Ride of 27 miles and then completed multiple century (100 mile) rides. Always looking to challenge herself she even completed a brutal double century, riding 200 miles in one day. Linda participated in the 586-mile California Aids Ride five times and was a training ride leader helping others who wanted to take on the rigorous San Francisco to L.A. challenge.
At the age of 50, athletic competition became a way of life for Linda. Not only did she run the L.A. Marathon, but she began to compete in Senior Olympics. With no previous track and field experience, she randomly chose to learn how to throw the javelin. Twelve years later she is the current world record holder for the javelin and triple jump in her age group and has also achieved All American status in 15 different track and field events.
Linda continues to compete locally and around the world in both the Masters Track and Field and Senior Olympics organizations. However she feels her greatest joy comes from helping others achieve their personal fitness goals.
